Lace wigs are considered to be the most fashionable and trendy way to hair replacement alternative these days. They come in different textures which are commonly referred to as “yaki”.
In definition, a “yaki” is a hair texture that is designed to look and feel like African-American hair (as seen on black people) that has been through a chemical hair process, also known as “relaxing”, where the basic structure of overly curly or wavy hair is changed into a straight form.
TYPES OF YAKI HAIR TEXTURES:
Silky Yaki – is the lightest or the smoothest of all the ‘yaki” hair textures. It is close to a silky straight hair, but a “yaki” can still be visible when you look closely. This type of “yaki” has the African-American hair look after it has been relaxed and flat ironed bone straight.
Regular Yaki – is the most popular type of all the “yaki” hair textures. It has a typical African-American hair look that has been relaxed but not as smooth and as silky as the silky yaki.
Kinky Yaki – is another type of “yaki” texture. It has the African-American hair look that has not been relaxed but just blow dried straight instead. It is thick and looks more natural.
Coarse Yaki – is a type of “yaki” that has a coarse texture. It looks and feels like a NATURAL African-American hair that has not been through any chemical hair process (relaxed or blow dried straight). This type of “yaki” comes in two forms:
